As a packaging manufacturer, we bear an enormous responsibility towards our environment - and we are well aware of this. That is why we have been pursuing a consistent sustainability strategy for many years - and already have a lot to show for it today: various corporate certifications, FSC^®-certified packaging series, a fully recycled packaging and a comprehensive advisory guide on the topic.

Since then, we have also tried to make the processes at our production site in southern Germany as climate-friendly as possible. As a manufacturing company, it is simply not possible to produce in a climate neutral way as things stand today. This is because the manufacture of products consistently consumes resources and releases CO₂ emissions. What has become an increasingly important consumer issue in recent years is therefore also in our hands: climate protection. But how can we, as small players in the system, also generate a positive impact and make our contribution to climate protection?

With our partner natureOffice, we have now created the necessary infrastructure to enable you as a customer to make your packaging climate neutral. And without much bureaucratic effort. The costs here amount to around 1-1.5% of your order value. So each of us has the opportunity to act with our available resources and do our part to help this global problem. But how does it all work?

Well, first of all, you as a customer must express the wish to have your packaging produced by us in a climate neutral way or to arrange for an order from our packaging range to be climate neutral. Of course, this is a voluntary, order-related offer. Our product range itself is not CO₂-neutral! Directly when taking the order, our staff can then record the necessary data and thus determine the individual compensation costs.

For this purpose, natureOffice has developed a customised tool that allows us to collect all relevant data. Within one minute, we can determine the individual compensation costs that must be provided by you in order to label your packaging as climate neutral. By the way, this service is offered by us free of charge. The costs for the compensation will be shown to you with our invoice. But on the basis of which data are the compensation costs ultimately determined?

To determine the compensation costs of your packaging, the material types and their weight shares in the packaging, the proportional transport routes and the type of means of transport are used in particular. In addition, the energy used to extract the materials and raw materials and proportional production emissions are also taken into account. For us, 5 variables are necessary for the correct determination, which are ultimately recorded when the order is accepted. In addition to our standard range, it is therefore also possible for us to determine the compensation costs for customised project business within a short period of time.

In order to provide you with all the necessary materials for the subsequent documentation, your company name and your own collection number are also recorded in the tool. Finally, you can now choose the project through which the neutralisation of your packaging will take place. But which climate protection projects do you actually have to choose from?

By supporting climate protection projects, we have the opportunity to ensure that CO₂ emissions are offset and to promote both ecological and social aspects in the process. Therefore, in addition to pragmatic projects directly on our doorstep, we have also decided to support projects that cross national borders and start elsewhere on our planet. After all, a global problem like climate change requires global solutions and therefore cannot be considered locally. The offset costs incurred to make your packaging climate neutral are then made available to the desired project and you receive the documents you need for transparent tracking and communication. But what are these exactly?

First and foremost, natureOffice will send you a certificate confirming that all CO₂ emissions generated during the implementation of the packaging project have been recorded and offset by a recognised climate protection project. In addition to the project and the amount of emissions offset, the packaging project, the date of recording and the ID number are indicated. And this is extremely important, because you and the consumers of your products can access your personal tracking result with the help of the ID. Here, the quantities are once again visualised and processed in an attractive way, especially for outsiders.

As already mentioned, climate protection is an issue that is increasingly becoming the focus of consumers. With climate neutral packaging, we can make a joint contribution to sustainable world development and address a global problem with our available resources. The label on the packaging also provides orientation for consumers to make a sustainable purchase decision. With a reflective appearance on the market, you can additionally increase the value of your products and stand out from the competition. In the end, everyone is part of the climate problem - and everyone can contribute to solving it with their limited means!
